RightSize Mortgages was established in early 2024 and is owned and operated by myself, Oliver Brooks the sole Principal Mortgage Advisor. I provide mortgage advice and solutions for all but with a keen interest in helping immigrants to New Zealand. I moved over to New Zealand from London, UK with my wife and son in 2015. We settled in New Plymouth, Taranaki having fallen in love with this region from a previous visit. New Plymouth is very much our home now and we feel so connected to this beautiful province having grown our family with two more wonderful children.

Relocating to a new country is a big moment in anyone’s life and not without risk. Often, what is left behind is security and familiarity with careers and family/friendship networks. But the prospect of what is available in a new land makes the risk an attractive proposition. It is easy to be delayed (temporarily or permanently) by the fear of what could go wrong. However, nothing changes if nothing changes and so as I have learnt in my life a little bit of bravery is often rewarded. Personally, I have always sought out the path whereby mine and my family’s life is improved by the decisions I make. It has always been a motivator behind embarking on projects that contribute to this.

Soon after moving to New Zealand we bought our first home and then in 2020 we had the opportunity to build a new house in which we now live. This is something I would never have dreamed of being able to do in the UK but as I have now learnt is very achievable here in New Zealand.

New Zealand is an exciting young country where you truly can make a dream life for you, your family, and future generations.
